Abstract

809,857. Typewriters &c. WILKES, J. Dec. 10, 1956 [Dec. 8, 1955], No. 35229/55. Class 100(4) A positive feed mechanism for stationery to give short and longer feed steps, employs pin wheels 4, Fig. 1, which can be attached to an electrically operated typewriter is driven from the platen roller by gears 15, 17. It has a rotatable member 6, Fig. 3, co-acting with an electric switch 9, for stopping the drive after the longer throw, driven by gear wheels 10, 12, 11, one of which, 10, is mounted on a shaft 3, Fig. 1, and coupled thereto by a clutch 19, 20, so that stationery can be adjusted on the positive feed shaft 3 in relation to the switch operating member 6. Gear wheel 11, Fig. 3, may be changed to alter the relative speeds of rotation of the platen roller and switch operating disc 6. Gear wheel 12 is mounted on arm 13, pivoted at 10, so that adjustments may be made to accommodate wheels 11 of various sizes.
