809,602. Motor vehicle driving gear. CITROEN, S. A., A. Jan. 12, 1956 [Sept. 24, 1955], No. 1167/56. Class 79(2) A motor vehicle steering and driving wheel 8 is driven through a universal joint 6 disposed substantially in the median plane of the road engaging surface of the wheel, a splined connection 3 and a resilient coupling 2 by a vehicle engine-driven member 1, the connection 3 permitting variation in the distance between the coupling 2 and the joint 6 and the coupling 2 being capable of absorbing vibrations in the direction of a shaft 7 between the connection 3 and joint 6. As shown the output shaft 7 of the joint 6 is supported by a concave member 9 carried by pivoted arms 10. 11. The coupling 2 is of the form described in Specification 788,134 [Group XXIV].
