Abstract

Polyamide fibres are dyed from a hot aqueous solution containing a neutral dyeing premetallized dye and a polyglycol ether of an organic amino compound which has a chain containing from 16 to 18 carbon atoms in its molecule. Dyeing is preferably effected from an acid, e.g. acetic acid, bath. In examples, the polyglycol ethers employed are the condensation products of ethylene oxide with octadecyl ethylene diamine, octadecenyl ethylene diamine, hexadecyl ethylene diamine, octadecyl diethylene triamine, hexadecyl diethylene triamine or octadecenyl diethylene triamine.
