Abstract
808,875. Power-lift mechanisms. INTERNATIONAL. HARVESTER CO. May 18, 1957 [May 18, 1956], No. 15281/57. Class 79(1) In a tractor with hydraulic power lift, a pair of lift arms 12D, Fig. 8 are independently operable by a single ram (not shown) as for selective operation of a pair of oppositely angled ploughs and each selectively locked in the raised position by:a spring loaded plunger 5b engageable with an abutment 14D associated with each lift arm 12D. The plungers 5b are moved by handles 2D which may be locked in a permanently retracted position by engagement in a recess 9D to permit normal raising and lowering off the arms 12D. The handles 2D may also be moved into recesses 8D so that springs 4 Fig. 1a project the plungers 5b to retain the arms 12D in the raised position as for transport &c. For selective operation one of the handles 2D is moved to a secondary position 10D to retract and rotate the plunger 5b so that a radially extending cam 6D on its end engages behind an end plate 15 to lock the plunger 5b in the retracted position and permit the respective arm 12D to be lowered. During lowering of the arm 12D a cam 13 engages the cam 6D to release it from the plate 15 so that when the arm is again brought to the raised position the plunger 5b is automatically projected by the spring 4 to lock the arm in the raised position. An arm 114D limits the outward movement of the plunger 5b.
