Abstract

705,868. Hay-loaders. TAYLOR, J. H. Nov. 21, 1952 [Sept. 5, 1951], No. 20944/51. Class 6 (3). [Also in Group XXX] Means for coupling an implement such as a pike lifter to a tractor comprises a frame rigidly attached to the implement 10 and provided with a locking bar 14 and a lifting bar 13 mounted on brackets 12 adjustably attached to frame members 11. The tractor is provided with power lifting links 2 and horizontal U-shaped brackets 5 fixed to brackets 4 secured on the sides of the tractor. The upper arms of the brackets 5 are in alignment with a horizontal flange 6a of a frame 6 mounted on the rear of the tractor. The implement is connected to the tractor by towering the links 2 and backing the tractor so that the links engage below the bar 13. On raising the links 2 the locking bar 14 is raised and abuts on the frame 6. On further movement of the links 2 above the horizontal, the bar 13 slides down the links 2 so that the bar 14 engages in the brackets 5 and is locked by means of pins 5a or pawls inserted in the brackets by the tractor driver. In a modification the lifting bar 13 may be replaced by hook-like abutment lugs which may be arranged on the inside or outside of the frame members 11. Similarly the bar 14 may be replaced by lugs. The frame 6 may consist of two short inwardly curved members.
