808,555. Knitting. ETABLISSEMENTS LEBOCEY MACHINES. May 16, 1955 [May 15, 1954], No. 14141/55. Class 74 (2). A method of knitting an invisible fleecy fabric, as shown in Fig. 2, comprises feeding a backing yarn 11 below the beards of selected needles 2a of a circular bearded needle machine, raising the intervening needles 2b so that the backing yarn extends at the bath of the intervening needles 2b and then feeding a binding yarn 15 below the beards of all the needles. The needles are then lowered and the beards pressed so that the binding yarn 15 passes into the hooks of the needles and the backing yarn 11 and previous course loops pass on to the beards where they attain a position at the tops of the needles in which they hold the binding yarn 15 up in the hooks without being cast-off the needles, Fig. 7. To enable the needles to separate the yarns in this way the binding yarn is fed into catches 4b of the sinkers above the normal sinker throat 4a. As the needles rise the yarns 11 and 15 maintain their position and rise with the needles whilst the previous course loops remain stationary whereafter a face yarn 16 is fed to them beneath the beards. The needles are then caused to knit drawing the face yearn and binding yarn through the previous course loops and securing the backing yarn between them at spaced points along the course.
