Abstract
808,545. Torque-limit coupling. LETURIONDO BARRUETABENA Y CIA. SOC. R.C. TORNILLERIA LEMA. Dec. 28, 1956 [Aug. 14, 1956], No. 39416/56. Class 80 (2). A torque-limit coupling for a lathe or other machine tool comprises facially inclined toothed elements 3, 4 arranged inside a pulley 1 and held together axially by springs 12 adjustably compressed by set screws 11. One toothed element 4 is rigidly screwed at 7 inside the pulley, whilst the other, 3, is pinned at 5 to a sleeve 2, pinned at 6 to the shaft 15 of a driving electric motor, the screwed end of which shaft carries a nut 9 retaining a member 8 which is connected by axial pins for rotation with the pulley and receives the loading springs 12 in axial holes lined with holes in the pulley. To facilitate assembly a peg 14 is temporarily inserted in radial holes in the pulley 1 and member 8, which holes register when the axial clearance 16 between the pulley and member is sufficient to permit axial disengaging movement of the toothed element 4 and connected pulley 1 on overload.
