Class 73 A reversible address label or label holder is mounted on the outside of a container and the arrangement is such that it can be locked in either of its two positions and can be unlocked only from inside the container. In one embodiment a reversible label plate 1, Fig. 2, is pivotally mounted at 3 to the cover 2 of a container and has at its free end a rivet 5 mounted for vertical movement in an aperture therein. The cover 2 has raised portions 6 formed with apertures 7 through which a rounded head portion of the rivet 5 may pass in either one or other positions of the plate 1. A spring 8 is centrally secured to the underside of the cover 2 so that an end portion 9 snaps over the lower head of the rivet 5 when this is pressed downwardly through the aperture 7. The spring 8 can be released from the rivet 5 only after removal of the cover 2. In another embodiment a label holder consists of two parallel plates 12, Fig. 4, of transparent material which form a pocket having one end closed by a metal strop 13 of U-section while the other end is adapted to be opened or closed by means of a U-section or angle-section metal strip 14. The strip 14 is either slipped over the pocket end or is pivotally mounted at one corner. A cut-out portion 16, Fig. 3, in each of the metal strips receives the stem 17 or 17<SP>1</SP> of a T-shaped member, the two arms 18, Fig. 3, of which are pivotally mounted in the strip. The free end of each stem 17 or 17<SP>1</SP> is provided with an annular groove, and the stem 17 is pivotally secured within an aperture in the container cover 21, another aperture also being provided through which the stem 17<SP>1</SP> may pass freely. A spring 20 located underneath the cover 21 is secured at one end in the annular groove of the stem 17 and is located by a small cover strap 22 so that its free end 23 is adjacent the second cover aperture. On passing the stem 17<SP>1</SP> through this aperture, the spring 20 snaps into engagement with the annular groove. If the pocket 12 is to be reversed, the spring 20 is disengaged from the stem 17<SP>1</SP> on removal of the cover 21 and the pocket 12 pivoted upwardly about the arms 18 of the lefthand T-shaped member which serves as a universal joint. The pocket 12 is then turned over about the stem 17 so that the position of arms 18 is reversed. The stem 17<SP>1</SP> is then turned back through 180 degrees and inserted in the cover aperture. In another form the label arrtangement may be self-contained, i.e., the member 2 or 21 may form abase plate which may be mounted on a container by rivets or bolts, the container having a small aperture underneath the portion 9 or 23 of spring 8 or 20.
