[Also in Group XXVII] In a combined silencer and gas filter, wherein the gas flows through ducts 4, 5 extending along the edges of a casing 1 and is directed laterally into the easing, the filter comprises a pleated annulus 16 of paper impregnated with phenol-formaldehyde, fabric or wire mesh disposed between cylindrical members 17, 18 of perforated sheet or gauze ; the ends of the filter assembly may be sealed by moulded rings 19, 20 of rubber or a plastic. The filter is located in the casing by a removable cover 3.
