805,635. Contacting gases with liquids. DIDIER-WERKE A.G. Sept. 6, 1955 [Sept. 7, 1954], No. 25570/55. (Class 55 (2). Gas-liquid contact apparatus comprises a series of spaced bubble-trays each having a trough 17 (Fig. 1) containing a coil 21 through which heating or cooling fluid may be circulated, all the liquid from a tray above being discharged by downcomers 18 into the trough to flow along the trough and having been heated or cooled over weirs 20 on to the tray, finally passing from the tray over weirs 27 into downcomers 29 leading to the trough of the tray below. A modified form of trough 17A with heat-exchange coils 21A is shown in Fig. 4.
