804,884. Spring wheels. GOETZEWERKE F. GOETZE A.G. Jan. 18, 1955 [Jan. 20, 1954], No. 1535/55. Class 144 (1). A spring wheel comprises a radially flanged split rim 5 connected to a hub 1 solely by two continuous or segmental rubber or like rings 8, 9 bonded respectively on opposite sides of the two rim flanges 6, 7 and to the facing surfaces of two cranked annular discs 3, 4 extending radially from a radial hub flange 2, the rim flanges 6, 7 being bolted together to place the rubber rings under lateral pre-tension. As shown, in the event of failure of the rubber rings, the rim flanges 6, 7 drop into, and are axially located by, an annular channel 11 defined by the radially inner portions a of the cranked discs.
