804,367. Electric grills. VADASZ, S. J. May 9, 1956 [Feb. 11, 1955], No. 4201/55. Class 39(3) [Also in Group VI] An electric grill comprises upper and lower heating plates between which food is cooked and a handle arranged laterally of the opening between the plates for lifting the upper plate. An automatic interrupter may be arranged between a manually operated switch and the heating elements. Visible or audible signals may be provided for indicating when the electric current is switched on or off. As shown, Fig. 1, the casing 1 carries lower and upper plates 2 and 7 with fan like arrangements of grooves and ridges 3, 4 and with central dividing channels 5 leading to spouts 6. Alternatively two or four sets of parallel grooves may be provided or the grooves may be wavy. The upper plate is raised and lowered by a handle 16 at the side and may be mounted so as to be reversible, Fig. 9. A switch may be provided by which the plates may be connected in parallel or series or only the upper plate may be heated. The two plates may be hinged directly together e.g. by a hinge with a sliding axis.
