Abstract
631,891. Electric toasters. SCHAPIRO, H. March 18, 1947, No. 7499. [Class 39(iii)] [Also in Groups VI and XXXVII] In an electric toaster having two oppositely-arranged and pivoted doors 20 each capable of supporting an article B to be toasted, the weight of the said article is sufficient upon the closing of its respective door to actuate a push-button micro-switch 31 through the medium of pivoted levers 36 and 37 and so energize a central heating element C. Under the weight of the load, the levers 36 and 37 disposed on either side of the heating element bear against protective grid bars 42 adjacent to the heating element. Any known type of timing mechanism may be incorporated in the toaster and the pivoted levers may control separate heating means. U.S.A. Specification 2,114,000 is referred to.
