Abstract

778,939. Grilling and toasting apparatus. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Dec. 5 1955 [Dec. 9, 1954], No. 34788/55. Class 28(1) [Also in Group XI] A cooking device comprises toasting and oven chambers 12, 14, located one above the other, between which is located a single heater 42 having a pivoted reflector plate 48, with lower and upper reflecting surfaces, extending longitudinally on either side of it so that the reflecting plates reflect the thermal energy from he heater up or down according to their positions. Oven chamber 14 contains a drawer 24. The toasting portion 12 has sides 28, 30 formed by extensions of the oven top walls 18 and contains reflectors 50 and U-shaped wire food guard 64 beneath which is a baffl wire food guard 64 beneath which is a baffle 60. A food rack 66 is,movable vertically, e.g. manually, within guard 64. Reflectors 48 are hinged to reflectors 50 and are connected by links 84 to cams 90,mounted on a rod 92. Thus by turning a knob 98 on the end of the rod 92 the reflectors may be moved, simultaneously.
