804,114. Hose end fittings. ROLLS-ROYCE, Ltd. Aug. 3, 1956 [Aug. 4. 1955], No. 22516/55. Class 99(1). In a pipe end fitting for flexible metallic pipes of the kind having a corrugated flexible conduit 10 covered by metallic braiding 11, the conduit being permanently secured, as by brazing, at 13a to the end fitting 13 and the braiding 11 extending over the joint 13a and being trapped to the end fitting by a swaged sleeve 16, an annular flange 21 extends from the end fitting 13 inside the braiding 11 to cover the joint 13a and the space between the sleeve 16 and finage 21 is wider than the thickness of the braiding 11 whereby an annular air space 22 is provided between the flange and sleeve to provide thermal insulation of the joint 13a. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 768,437.
