803,991. Change-speed control. HUDSWELL, CLARKE & CO., Ltd. Feb. 24, 1955 [Jan. 8, 1954], No. 551/54. Class 80 (2). A ratio selecting and establishing lever 1 is pivoted to the middle of a link 2 in turn pivoted at 2a, 2b. to the connecting rods 3 of doubleacting pistons in cylinders 4. Compressed air is supplied from a line 5 to the cylinders 4 through two valves 6 controlled by a cam bar 8, slidden axially by a governor responsive to the road (or rail) speed of a vehicle in which the device is mounted. The arrangement is such that the selector &c. lever 1 is moved to one of three positions A, B and C according to the speed of the vehicle. An over-riding manual control can be provided.
