Abstract
1,230,969. Change-speed control. JOSEF BAUTZ G.m.b.H. 6 March, 1970 [2 April, 1969], No. 10880/70. Heading F2D. A control rod 2 of an hydrostatic transmission pump 1, or a shift control of a C.S.G. (not shown) having a constant input speed and an infinitely variable reversible output speed, for a combine harvester, is interconnected with a brake pedal 4, via a roller 7 on the control rod and a cam 6 on the pedal, in such manner that on application of the vehicle brake 5, depression of the brake pedal 4 first shifts the control rod to neutral i.e. zero pump displacement position (as shown in full lines in Fig. 2) before further depression of the pedal 4 (as shown in phantom lines in Fig. 2) applies the brake 5 whilst maintaining the control rod 2 in the neutral position, the control rod 2 remaining in its neutral position after release of the brake pedal 4. The pedal 4 may be articulated directly (not shown) to the brake 5 or, as shown, associated in spaced relationship (Fig. 1) with a rocker arm 8 connected via a pull-rod 9 to the brake 5, such that on the further depression of the pedal 4, after the pump 1 has been adjusted to zero displacement via rod 2, the brake 5 only then becomes effective in the position shown in phantom lines in Fig. 2.
