Abstract

[Also in Division F2] In a linkage including an input lever 10 angularly movable about the same axis as an output lever 11, and an input link 12 movable longitudinally, for one position of the link 12 movement of the lever 10 has no effect on the lever 11, while for other positions of the link 12 movement of the lever 10 moves the lever 11 by an amount dependent on the position of the link 12. The linkage is included in the turbine engine fuel control system described in Specification 1, 224, 141, lever 10 being connected to move in unison with a manual control for a throttle device in the main fuel system, lever 11 being connected to a combined emergency throttle and main/emergency change-over valve, and link 12 being servo-actuated in response to a main/ emergency fuel system selector by pressures in the engine compressor. Levers 13, 16 are secured for angular movement with the levers 10, 11 respectively. Links 14, 15 inter-connect the levers 13, 16. A link 17 connects the link 12 to the joint between the links 14, 15. A link 21 connects the joint between the links 12, 17 to an arm 18 pivoted about the same axis as the levers 10, 11. Levers 13, 16 and links 14, 15, 17, 21 are all of the same length. A spring 19 urges the arm 18 against a stop 20, and a pin 22 on the arm 18 is engageable by the link 21. During normal operation of the main system, the link 12 is locked in the position shown in Fig.1, with its joint with links 17, 21 aligned with the joint between links 15, 16. The lever 11 is then unaffected by movements of input lever 10. When the emergency system is selected, the link 12 is moved upwardly, Fig.6, moving the lever 11 from the position of Fig.1 into the emergency throttle control range shown in Fig. 6. The actual position of the link 12 is dependent on engine compressor pressures, and sets the velocity ratio between the levers 10 and 11, so that the manual throttle control (not shown) moves the lever 11 to regulate the emergency throttle.
