Abstract

Class 16 [Also in Groups XVI and XX] A memorandum device comprises a paper web wound into a composite roll with its front surface contacting a carbon transfer layer provided on the reverse side of a light-permeable paper coated on its front side with a light impervious yellow or orange coating which is removed or displaced by the action of writing on it. In writing on the yellow or orange coating the latter is removed to form a negative, and the carbon coating is completely transferred to the underlying paper web. The rear surface of the paper web may be provided with an adhesive coating. The yellow or orange coating may contain lead chromates or Hansa yellow mixed in carnauba wax, beeswax, mineral oil and castor oil. Titanium white also may be added, as may be a blue or green pigment such as Vivtoria Blue B mixed with oleic acid. The carbon transfer coating may comprise carbon black, carnauba wax, beeswax, mineral oil, oleic acid and Methyl Violet. Specification 487,751 [Group XVI] is referred to.
