Abstract

554,704. Transfers. BURGESS, F. W., and TRAPINEX, Ltd. March 4,1942, No. 2849. Addition to 547,312. [Class 100 (ii)] A transfer comprises a sheet of gummed paper, a reversed design applied thereto, an opaque paint layer covering the reversed design, and a non-reversed design on the paint layer. If the transfer is applied to a transparent surface, one design is visible from one side and the other from the opposite side, but if the transfer is applied to an opaque surface one design only is visible and the paint layer conceals any other matter which the opaque surface may already bear. The transfer may be applied in the ordinary way or as a slip-off transfer. The non- reversed design on the transfer may be covered with a second sheet of gummed paper which may be the backing sheet of a transfer by which the non-reversed design is applied to the paint layer.
