Abstract
111,150. Blades, A. F., and Collins, S. W. Nov. 14, 1916. Letter-sheets.-A combined letter-sheet and envelope has the whole of its surface, back and front, treated with a chemically protective coating to reveal the use of invisible ink &c. The coating preferably contains methylene blue or " carminaph garnet," or these two dyes mixed, which would run if any invisible ink or other liquid were applied. The colours may be applied as a closely printed design, and the surface of the paper may also be highly glazed or enamelled so as to render visible any writing made by a silver or solid pencil. The lettersheet is preferably constructed as shown in Fig. 1, so that, after opening, it may be re-sealed by the second flap C.
