Abstract

514,895. Fountain pens: memorandum appliances. McHUGH, H. May 18, 1938, No. 14771. [Classes 16 and 146 (iii)] Fountain pens are provided with memorandum appliances consisting of a writing- surface in the form of a roller arranged beneath a window 1 in the nibcovering cap 2. The writing-surface may be the roller itself or a strip of paper 6 attached to the roller and adapted to be removed through a slot 7 provided in addition to the window, in the cap ; the edge of the slot may be bevelled to facilitate tearing of the paper. The roller, which is rotatable by means of a handle 9, forms the inner cap and a friction and ink-tight washer 10 is provided to prevent ink leaking on to the writing-surface. A spring 8 may be provided to retain the paper against the surface of the cap.
