801,949. Confining dust generated in industrial processes. HESSER, MASCHINENFABRIK A. G., F. Aug. 9, 1956 [Aug. 18, 1955], No. 24405/56. Class 8(2). [Also in Groups XVII and XVIII] Measured quantities of powder are delivered from a hopper 1 to packages 6 by a series of inclined measuring chambers 3 which are rotated by a shaft 2 and have shutters 13 at their discharge end. The powder discharges through a funnel 5 in a stream directed to one side of the package so that displaced air can freely escape without carrying substantial quantities of powder with it. A suction chamber 14 surrounding the ends of the measuring chambers and rotating with them draws off the displaced air to a fixed suction conduit 15. In a modification, suction nozzles are arranged only along the inside of funnels 5 separate from the measuring chambers.
