800,167. Sprengel explosives. CHEMOTHERM, G. M. B. H: Aug. 23, 1956 [Aug. 23, 1955], No. 25814/56. Class 9(2) Explosive compositions comprise nitric acid mixed with 20 to 40 per cent by weight of the total 'composition of an organic compound having insufficient oxygen by itself to maintain combustion and which is resistant to excess nitric acid at the boiling point of the acid. Such compounds are the chloromononitrobenzones and pyridine. The composition may also include 1 to 40 per cent of its weight of aluminium. Examples are given.
