798,977. Pyrotechnic compositions. HORIZONS, Inc. June 25, 1956, No. 19616/56. Class 9(2) A pyrophoric composition comprises a mixture of a finely divided alloy which is 50 to 80 per cent of titanium or zirconium alloyed with aluminium and a finely divided element which is sulphur or selenium or telurium. The finely divided element may be 2 to 50 per cent by weight of the composition which may also contain silicon or tin. The aluminium may be 10 to 30 per cent by weight of the composition, which may be compressed. Preferably the particles in the mixture pass a 325/600 mesh Tyler screne.
