Abstract
798,537. Thermal switches. PETERCEM. Feb. 28, 1957 [March 15, 1956], No. 6731/57. Class 38 (5). A miniature thermostat comprieses a bimetallic strip 10, the major part of which is pressed against an elongate thin metal casing 11, and a bowed strip 9 forming the moving contact which is mounted between a support 7 and the face end of the bimetallic strip 10. Rise in temperature causes the bimetallic strip to move upwardly and the bowed strip to snap over from the fixed contact formed in the end of the conductor 2 to the fixed contact formed in the end of the conductor 4. The parts are mounted in a holder 1 having folded-in edges la, lb. The edge 1b presses the bimetallic strip 10 against the outer casing and also secures, together with a folded-in portion 1c, the conductor 2. Further folded-in portions 1d, le serve as supports for the conductor 4 and adjusting screws 8 for the support 7 respectively. The bowed strip 9 forming the moving contact is connected to the external circuit by a conductor 13 soldered to the outer casing. The ends of the casing may be sealed with " Araldite " (Registered Trade Mark).
