Abstract

797,940. Air filters. FRAM CORPORATION. Feb. 14. 1957 [Dec. 3, 1956], No. 5097/57. Class 8(2). Cleaning by reverse flow of air of an inward flow pleated paper air filter sleeve 10, Fig. 3, having annular end caps 13 after removal from the filter casing (not shown) is effected by placing it so that the rims of the end caps rest on a pair of spaced freely rotatable rollers, 14, Fig. 1, supported on a framework 16, 17 having a vertically slotted post 18 supporting a compressed air pipe 20 projecting into and along the sleeve 10 and having spaced apertures 22 which direct jets J of compressed air against the interior of the pleats and serve to rotate the sleeve as it bears on the rollers 14. The pipe 20 is vertically adjustable in a slot 19 to accommodate sleeves of varying diameters. Specification 751,655 is referred to.
