Abstract

796,854. Walls. DARLING CO., L. A. Oct. 14, 1954, No. 29659/54. Class 20(4) [Also in Group XIV] A wall unit comprises spaced supports of channel section having re-entrant portions extending from the outer end of each wall to receive the margins of wall panels, the re-entrant portions being spaced to slidably receive a locating projection at one end of a bracket and a turn-button clamping device being provided to secure the bracket to the upright. As shown, support members 11, 11a of channelled bar form, have re-entrant portions 15 receiving the edges of wall panels 20 and forming an opening 17 receiving the projecting portion of a flange 28 to which a bracket arm 25 is welded, a turn-button 32 mounted on a threaded stem 31 engaging behind the portions 15. Members 11 and 11a are secured to each other by clamps 40 engaging the opening 17 in both members. In modifications, the web of the channelled support member has a U-shaped re-entrant portion or the re-entrant portions are open angles. Specifications 796,853 and 796,855 are referred to.
