Abstract

549,083. Brackets. EDWARD, W. G., and FROST, G. M. April 30, 1941. No. 5633. [Class 52 (v)] A cantilever bracket for cables, pipes, &c. comprises a post 10 and a detachable bracket arm 20, of girder like cross section, engaging the post at two points 15, 19 at substantially the same level, means being provided to secure the bracket arm from horizontal withdrawal when the parts are engaged. The post may be formed of metal plate of box section, the front comprising flanges 13 separated by a gap 14. The flanges 13 are notched at 15 to engage flanges on the arm 20 and the back of the post is slit to form an embossed tongue 18 to engage a bent-up part 22 at the end of the bracket arm. The arm comprises a horizontal plate 24 stiffened by angle pieces 25 and formed with a bent front end 26.
