796,746. Mattresses. TALLEY, H. A. E. Jan. 21, 1957 [Feb. 10, 1956], No. 4212/56. Class 52(4) In the bed-sore preventing inflatable pad described in Specification 762,528, the motor 9 driving the air compressor 10 runs continuously but the air pressure in the system is prevented from rising above the desired value by an adjustable relief valve 13 in the delivery pipe 11. Inflating and deflating valve 6 may be driven by the motor through step-down gearing 8. The delivery pressure may actuate a switch upon exceeding a predetermined minimum pressure to energize an indicator light The deflating outlets from the series of cells may be adjustable in size to alter the deflation rate.
