The load is normally carried by a belt 6, but if the belt is out of order at any point, the load falls into the trough 1 and is pushed along by scrapers 4, 5 attached to endless chains 2. The belt is clamped between the parts 4, 5 of the scrapers. Each scraper is supported by rollers 7 mounted at its ends.
