Abstract

795,564. Palletizing loads. WHEELING STEEL CORPORATION. Jan. 6, 1956 [June 16, 1955], No. 529/56. Class 78 (4). Cups 13, 14, 15, Fig. 7, for supporting a load so that it can be engaged by a fork truck have opposed openings 5, Figs. 5 and 6, for receiving ties 12, Fig. 7, secured about the load. The cup shown in Fig. 5 is formed with two upstanding flanges 8 for engaging the corners of a stack of plates as shown at 15 in Fig. 7. Cups 14 for engaging the edge of the load are formed with a single upstanding flange while centrally disposed cups 13 have no flange. The cups may be drawn from plastic or cold drawn from metal and may be formed with inwardly or outwardly directed corrugations 10, Figs. 5 and 6, while the holes 5 may be shaped to receive steel bands or wires.
