Abstract

896,733. Pallets for handling loads. THOMAS & CO. PTY. Ltd., JOHN. July 27, 1960 [July 29, 1959], No. 26087/60. Class 78 (4). A pallet frame formed with an interior ledge 10 for supporting deck boards has legs 14 of socket formation so that they can take over tiering posts 13 received in sockets 11, 12 on the upper side of a similar pallet below. In the form illustrated, the sockets 11, 12 are each formed by two facing portions of angle iron; either the inner or the outer portion may be the taller. The legs 14 are flared and may have sharp corners, as shown, or may be rounded. The configuration is such that the tiering posts 13 slope slightly outwardly and downwardly so that they lodge securely in the sockets 11, 12. The sides formed by the tiering posts 13 may be covered by wire mesh which may include one or more doors.
