794,799. Exciting alternators. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. Sept. 24, 1956 [Sept. 29, 1955], No. 29078/56. Class 35. An alternator 10 is compound excited through an amplifying metadyne 12 and rectifier 16 with ballast resistor 15. The current component is derived from current-transformers 24, 25, 26, while a phase-shifted voltage component is derived from current-transformers 21, 22, 23 in the lines to chokes 17, 18, 19. In a modification these later transformers and chokes are replaced by potential transformers and each of the currenttransformers 24, 25, 26 is shunted by a ballast resistance.
