Abstract

794,285. Fluorescent discharge lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Nov. 12, 1956 [Jan. 5, 1956], No. 447/56. Class 39(1). A low pressure mercury vapour discharge lamp, of the type having an elongated tubular envelope coated internally with fluorescent material and provided at each end with a coiledcoil filament, is characterized in that the said filaments are of tungsten wire within the ranges 0À13-0À15 mm. diameter, and are mounted between support leads without the use of any anode plates. The filaments are such as to have a cold resistance of 1À8-2À4 ohms. Measurements and data of a specific example are given.
