Abstract
794,172. Stapling. INDUSTRIAL DE. VELOPMENT CORPORATION. Feb. 22. 1954 [March 19, 1953], No. 5147/54. Class 89(3) Means for attaching to a garment a staple loop 23 the prongs 26 of which pass through a garment 21 and through slots 31 in a back plate 30 and are clinched over, comprises upper and lower die members 42, 40 to hold the staple loop 23 and back plate 30 respectively, and a pivoted transparent gauge plate 45 for positioning the garment. The prongs 26 are clinched by member 76 pivoted at 77 on the die 40 and raised by a block 70 when the die is pressed downwards against springs 72. The gauge plate 45 is carried by spring-hinges on a plate 44 secured to the lower die. The staple loop 23 is held in the die 42 by a spring plunger 61 or magnetically.
