Class 75(1) In an oil burning space heater in which the lower portion 8 of a chimney 3 extending vertically from the top of a fuel container 1 forms the combustion chamber and in which a pipe 13 returns a portion of the combustion products from a point above the combustion chamber to the fuel container to form a mixture of combustion products and fuel vapour, the chimney is formed by an upper cylindrical tube 4 and a lower perforated combustion portion 8 and a filling aperture 2 in the top of the container is closed by a hinged cap 16 formed as a regulator for controlling the supply of air to the container. The air regulator 16 comprises a flanged cap 18 and a spring loaded slotted plate 24 rotatably mounted on a pin at the centre of the cap 18 and adapted to cover apertures 19 in the cap. Each aperture 19 is formed in an embossed portion 21 of the cap and a groove 22 extends from each aperture to the edge of the embossed portion 21 to provide a reduced air supply when the regulator is closed. An increased air supply may be provided by keeping the plate 24 out of contact with the cap by a pip 23 provided on the cap. The chimney is fitted into a neck in the top of the fuel container and a butterfly clamper is pivoted in the neck. The top of the chimney can be closed by a hinged cap 5. Heated gases from the chimney are deflected by a disc 6 supported on arms 7. The return pipe 13 is connected to the chimney by means of a cast iron elbow 14.
