Abstract

793,373. Jigging conveyers. McDOUGALLS, Ltd. May 16, 1956 [May 19, 1955], No. 14507/55. Class 78 (1). Powdered or granular material is conveyed from the outlet 13, 23 of a pipe 11 depending from a hopper 10 to the inlet 19 of a pipe 22 along the sloping bottom 14 of an open-topped box 12 which is vibrated by an electromagnetic vibrator 16. The inlet 19 is connected by a sleeve 21 of woven fabric to the pipe 22. The pipe 11 can be adjusted vertically to vary the distance between its bottom 13 and the bottom 14. The bottom 14 is relatively rigid, but the walls 15 of the box are made of light material, e.g. thin steel. The distance between the axes of the pipe 11 and the inlet 19 is less than twice the diameter of the pipe 11.
