792,749. Filling-machines. THAYER, W. L., and THAYER, F. L. Feb. 22, 1956, No. 5434/56. Class 94(1). [Also in Groups XVIII and XL(b)] In an automatic feed weigher (see Group XVIII) sacks 200 to be charged with a predetermined weight of material are applied manually to a spout 104 where they are retained by a knurled cam 106 until, on the attainment of the predetermined weight, the cam is released by an automatically energized solenoid 114 so allowing the sack to fall onto a conveyer belt (not shown). In the event of the sack being loaded with an excess weight of material the solenoid 114 has to be energized by a manually operated switch.
