Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the weight of the mixture for a battery to be automatically controlled without stopping a packing system by intermittently by-passing battery cases which are sent from a rotating mixture-packing machine, metering the weight of the battery cases, and adjusting a packing spindle according to the discrepancy between the metered weight and a normal weight. CONSTITUTION:A mixture is packed into a battery case 6 in order, by a vertical movement of a packing spindle which is attached to a rotating mixture-packing machine 1, which has even number of grooves on the side of its round surface for fixing the battery case 6. Next, the already packed battery case 6 is removed from the rotating machine 1 onto a rotating machine 7 which has grooves 8 for holding the battery case 6 and engages the rotating machine 1, and followed by sending the battery case 6 to the next process by means of a main conveyer 12. Battery cases 6 picked up at given intervals are sent to a by-pass conveyer 13, which has a weight-metering device 14 in the middle of that, by means of a batterycase-removing claw 9 which is attached to a part of the rorating machine 7. The output of the weight-metering device 14 is compared with a normal output value by a data-processing equipment 15, which sends out an output produced by the discrepancy between the output of the weight-metering device 14 and the normal output value. The output signal from the data-processing equipment 15 adjusts the stroke of the packing spindle which is attached to the rotating mixture-packing machine 1, thereby the packed amount of the mixture being controlled.
