935,142. Weighing apparatus. FR. HESSER, MASCHINENFABRIK-A.G. Jan. 31, 1962 [Feb. 7, 1961], No. 3660/62. Class 143. The main conveyer 10 of a packaging machine is guided round rollers 13, 14, 15, 16 so that a control weigher 1 is inserted in the main conveyer, the control weigher having a weigh pan 2 and an individual conveyer belt 3 which is guided round rollers 4, 5, 6, 7 to run over the weigh pan and form part of the main conveyer. The two rollers 14, 15 of the main conveyer belt 10 are so arranged that they urge the conveyer belt 3 against the rollers 5 and 6 whereby the belt 3 is driven by the belt 10 so as to be partly pushed and partly pulled over the weigh pan 2, the object being to preserve accuracy of weighing. 8 is a tensioning roller. The packages P are carried by the belt 10 and another belt 17 presses down the glued top flaps of the packages. Above the weigher 1 the lower run of the belt 17 is looped upwards, as shown, so that no pressure is applied to the package being weighed.
