[Also in Division B8] A modification of the weighing apparatus described in parent Specification for weighing and discharging measured and corrected quantities of pourable material comprises, a pre-dispensing device 50 (Fig. 1) a weigher 58, make-up device 60 controlled by said weigher, and an intermittently movable rotatable carrier 56 with weighholders 55 which successively presents each weighholder, first to the pre-dispensing device, then to the weigher, then to the make-up divice and then to discharge them, the carrier being in the form of a vertical rotating endless conveyer with the weigher stationary therein, and the weighholders adapted to be detached in turn from the carrier and set down freely on the weigher. The carrier may be an endless conveyer chain, or a ring comprising two sections 70, 71 (Figs. 1, 2) joined by rods 72 and supported at one side only on a shaft 76. For detachability the holders 55 are suspended by dowels 80 (Fig. 3) on dovetail ends of carrier elements 82, which are radially slidable in bearings 83 on ring sections 70, 71, and are urged radially outwards by tension springs 84. Thus the dowels 80, 81 are pressed yieldingly against the ring sections. When a weighholder is in position above the weigher a rockable lever 86, 87 shifts the carrier elements 82 downwards so that the weigher 58 supports the weighholder. Dispenser 50 measures volumetrically an underweight amount of commodity and deposits it in a holder, which is then weighed, and the measurement fed, in electrical impulse form (by known manner not described), to the make-up dispenser 60 (of known type not described) which makes up the weight in the holder to the required value. The carrier ring has a coverstrip 63 and when a weighholder reaches its lowermost position discharge is effected through an opening in this strip.
