Abstract
818,499. Automatic feed weighers. BARNES, R. H. Jan. 2, 1958 [Oct. 3, 1956], No: 30093/56. Class 143 [Also in Group XXX] Weigh pans or other measuring devices (not shown) are fed in turn through gaps 11 (Fig. 2) in a stationary wall 10 by a rotary plate 1 co-operating with an arm 33 which is.freely pivoted on axis 2 and is carried around by the material on plate 1 until halted by one of the abutments 32 whereafter the arm feeds the weigh pan until, on attainment of a predetermined weight in the pan the abutment 32 is withdrawn and the arm moves on to the next pan. When the arm is stationary a belt 40, driven by a pulley 41 rotatable with the plate 1, moves superimposed V belts 38 which facilitate transfer of articles or material from the plate to the pan. The plate is fed by a conveyer 8 from a hopper 9. Each gap 11 is controlled by a vertically sliding gate 13 (Fig. 3) which is closed by a counterweighted linkage 14-22 when bar 20 is released from its seat 31 on the end of a lever 28 due to the lever being moved anti-clockwise by upward movement of the weights pan 26. This movement of the linkage also retracts abutment 32 out of the path of arm 33.
