Abstract

790,967. Floors; floor boards. KAHR, G. April 11, 1956 [April 12, I955], No. 11063/56. Classes 20(4) and 87(1) A floor structure comprises a sub-floor on which a plurality of parallel metal strips 4, Fig. 2, are laid, the strips having stamped-out, upwardly directed tongues 12 which are so spaced apart that tongued and grooved laminated boards 6 may be laid across the strips 4 and the tongues 12 pressed against the side edges of the boards 6 to hold-them in position. The sub-floor may be formed from a concrete layer 1 covered by a thin lining 2 of porous concrete and surmounted by an insulating sheet 3 of corrugated cardboard. In a modification the layers 2, 3. are replaced by a layer of sand. Each board 6 is formed from parquet slabs 9 glued to a layer 3 which latter may consist of a single board. In another embodiment, Fig. 3, the tongues 14 of strips 4 are oblique to engage the chamfered edges of the boards and bent inwardly into the grooves 11.
