Abstract
790,696. Driving-gear; spray carburetters. SUDDEUTSCHES JLO WERK GES. June 2, 1955 [June 18, 1954], No. 15869/55. Classes 7(2) and 7(3) [Also in Group XXXI] In a pedal assisted motor cycle having the pedal crankshaft 5 built into a unitary engine and multi-speed assembly and the engine and pedal drives being effected through a single chain (not shown), the input shaft 3 of the multi-speed gear and the pedal crankshaft 5 are arranged between two vertical planes passing through the engine crankshaft 2 and a shaft 4 carrying the sprocket driving the chain. As shown a casing 1 houses the engine crankshaft 2 driving the shaft 3 through a clutch (riot shown) co-axial with the shaft 3, the shaft 3 being connected by a two-speed gear with the shaft 4. The pedal crank-shaft 5 is chain-connected with the shaft 4 for assisting the engine drive or starting the engine. The casing is formed in two symmetrical longitudinal halves, and is formed with an upper recess 16 housing the float chamber portion of the carburetter (not shown), the upper portion of which and an air filter (not shown) are shaped to conform with the casing 1.
