790,050. Walls, roofs, slabs. THERMACOUST, Ltd. Dec. 1, 1955 [Dec. 1, 1954], No. 34800/54. Addition to 676,385. Class 20(4) For a heat insulating wall, roof, or lining thereof slabs 1 of heat insulating material made e.g. of wood-wool, are rabbeted on their side edges to provide grooves 2 and tenons 3, the tenons of adjacent slabs being supported on the flanges of inverted T-section girders 4 and the cavities formed by the corresponding grooves 2 above each girder 4 each being filled with a strip of heat insulating material 5 such as cork, or wood-wool. In a modification, Fig. 3, one slab 1A is supported, by the tenon 3A, on one flange of the girder 4, the other slab 1B being supported on the other flange of the girder so that its tenon 3B overlaps the web of the girder 4 and the tenon 3A of the first slab 1A. The length of the tenon 3B is greater than that of the tenon 3A by an amount equal to the thickness of the web of the T-section gir- ,der 4. The girders 4 may be made of prestressed or pre-cast concrete.
