[Also in Group XXXIX] In a sound reproducing system comprising a reflecting plane or two or three reflecting planes at approximately right angles to each other and a sound-reproducing apparatus disposed at one side of said plane or planes, the reproducing apparatus is arranged to radiate low frequency sounds near the plane or planes, and high-frequency sounds markedly more distant and omnidirectionally enough to cause part to be transmitted by way of reflections from the plane or planes. Loud-speaker 1, Fig. 1, which may be placed on the floor, or on a ceiling with legs uppermost, includes a low-frequency loud-speaker in opening 3, a middle frequency loud-speaker 5, and highfrequency loud-speaker 6-9. Opening 4 is the port of the resonator. Loud-speaker, Fig . 3, uses a single loud-speaker mechanism and the whole of the frequency range is radiated via opening 13 and reflector 14. Low frequencies are radiated additionally through hole 16 in a mounting tube 17.
