Abstract

788,562. Discharge apparatus. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. July 8,1955 [July 14, 1954], No. 19822/55. Class 39(1). A screening arrangement for an electronic tube 1 comprises a can 3 adapted to be locked at one end to the tube base 2, and a conductive resilient network 4 lining the can. A spring 9 draws the network, which may be of braided copper, tightly over the tube envelope, so that there is good thermal contact with both tube and can. An end piece 5 fits into a ring 6 attached to part of the casing 7, which serves to dissipate heat conducted from the valve.
