Abstract

A sanitary napkin or bandage comprises an absorbent pad enclosed in a textile wrapper, the material being a mesh composed of a knitted warp and a weft of single threads, the weft threads passing through the loops of the warp. This provides an unravelling wrapper which has negligible stretch. If desired, the wrapper may be treated to give it softness or it may have soft fibres attached to it by adhesive.
