Abstract

399,591. Elastic stockings, bandages, &c. RÍMPLER AKT.-GES., J. and BAUMG€RTEL, C., 1A, Bahnhofstrasse, Zeulenroda, Thuringia, Germany. May 9, 1932, No. 13352. [Class 81 (ii).] A knitted fabric for bandages, stockings, belts, brassieres, &c. is composed of alternate courses of elastic thread a, e.g. rubber, and comparatively inelastic and textile thread b. The rubber thread may have a textile cover woven, plaited, or otherwise applied thereto. A 1 x 1 rib fabric may have the courses of elastic thread a knitted by one set of needles, and the inelastic thread b knitted by the other set of needles, so that the threads appear in alternate wales as well as in alternate courses. An unknitted elastic weft thread c may be held between the frame and rib loops. The elastic fabric may be knitted in flat form so that in articles such as corsets it may de disposed with the courses lengthwise or transversely with respect to the body of the wearer. Parts 8, 9 may be made of an inelastic porous material. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 393,394, [Group VIII].
